alternative reality

This concept develops out of two ideas.
The first is that all we are aware of around us has a similar sort of frequency. For instance, our eyes ‘perceive’ (see) energy in a certain range of frequencies, and the things that we physically feel are actually atoms and molecules vibrating within a range of frequencies that can be ‘felt’ by the molecules in our skin (actually, in the nerves). This is all very much like the analogy that this world is a radio station and we are, while incarnate and awake here, a radio tuned to that station (with the option of tuning to other stations or bands of stations if we are psychic enough).
The second idea is that people – and groups of people – choose experiences in order to learn. Thus this planet is basically a class room (a very nice class room, if one looks at some of the physical beauty of the planet). Other classrooms exist, generally at frequencies we are not aware of – which is similar to radio stations having enough difference in their frequencies to avoid interference with each other.
These other worlds, in this analogy, are generally termed ‘dimensions’ – which is not the correct ‘scientific’ use of that word. On some of these dimensions, other versions of the entities on this planet are exploring other (‘historical’?) options.
Those are ‘alternative realities’.
Two examples of this are:

  • coming to a crossroads in one reality, and choosing to go directly ahead; in other realities, one also explores going in the other directions;
  • seeing what have happened if Napoleon remained a corporal.

This concept is illustrated by the ‘Oversoul 7’ novels by Seth (channelled by Jane Roberts; the books are “The Education of Oversoul 7”, “The Further Education of Oversoul 7”, and “Oversoul 7 and the Museum of Time”), Richard Bach’s “One”, and various of Carlos Castenada’s books (e.g., “The Fire from Within”, Pub. Pocket Books, 1985 (first pub. 1984), ISBN 0 671 63326 0, although other of his books are probably better on this topic).
Personally, I find this concept a bit mind boggling, as the number of choices we make is astronomical … and where does the energy for this come from, or is it a case of abundance means the energy for this is unlimited? And how do the lessons for this get integrated into our being – i.e., how do we pass knowledge from one alternative reality to another (because I definitely feel that such has happened to me, in this incarnation)? Does the alternative learning our parallels undergo, or acting things out in the astral, explain at least some of this?
