differentiation (psychic)

As I use the word (in a psychic context), differentiation means recognising energies (and the essence of units) and whether they are constructive or destructive (or neutral). It is an important, fundamental skill, which begins with such basic measures as the Positive Energy Test, and can be refined to making fine judgements about energies and units (e.g., recognising incarnate BPLF guides as opposed to discarnate BPLF guides, direct and indirect psychic attack, and so on).
