A doppelganger is an image (sometimes referred to as ‘the double’, or ‘a double’) of someone who is still incarnate, seen at another location to that which the incarnate person is known to be at.

There are a range of superstitious beliefs attached to this, but it is also possible that this is a form of “bilocation” – perhaps, for instance, a person who is daydreaming having their astral go to another location and then be perceived in some way (perhaps psychically, or perhaps through becoming visible through some unknown means).

This is something which advanced souls may be responsible for by sending parts of themself off to attend to various tasks (e.g., helping a friend or person in need).
