This is one of those words which is so significant that I wish to include it in this glossary.
This is a word I can illustrate with a variation of an old mathematically based joke, by saying this is case where 1 + 1 + 1 = 4, or more. The sum of the parts here, is greater than the mathematical sum of the parts. Another (perhaps clearer :) ) example would be forming a team of people, and having them perform far more effectively than expected.
