Touch for Health is a health system (sometimes termed applied kinesiology) based on an application of kinesiology (the study of human movement),
developed by a Dr John Thie in the 1970s, and featuring muscle testing and the
balancing of muscles and energy flows in the ‘meridians’.
My experience of this modality is that it draws heavily on traditional Chinese
medical theories, such as the ‘five elements’ of wood, fire, earth, metal and
water, and can be effective, but, like everything it has its limits, and won't be of value universally. (So keep your thinking cap on, and be neither unduly naive nor unduly sceptical: have a balanced objectivity when assessing this [ESPECIALLY if you are spending money on it], and be mindful of human variability ... just as you would for ALL forms of "conventional" or mainstream medicine, all of which also has its limits.)
It has been
extensively developed since the days when I was first involved, and can now be
found – or some of its techniques, at any rate – in past life regression,
allergy testing, improving learning, etc. I have little direct experience of these more recent developments.
